Multiplication chart (������):

The method of reading the multiplication chart:

  1. Read the first number (the base).
  2. Read the second number (the multiplier).
  3. The equal sign (=) reads as �� [un] after a consonant, as in 1x1=1 (��.��.��.��) and �� [nun] after a vowel, as in 1x2=2 (��.��.��.��).

Number Recognition Games

 A. Prepare index cards with an Arabic number on one side and the equivalent Korean word on the other.

 Make up two teams with five to seven people in each team.

  1. Display the index cards with the Korean words facing up.

    Call out a number in English (or have a student do it), and the players should pick the index card with the number called out being written down.

  2. Display the index cards with the Arabic numbers facing up.

    Call out a number in Korean (or have a student do it), and the players should pick the index card with the number called out being written down.


    The team which has collected the most index cards wins.

B. Card Game: 7-card (. . .�־��?)

Each player gets 7 cards at the beginning. You will get a new card either from the player next to you or from the deck.
Whenever you make a pair with the new card, drop the pair. The one who empties out the hand first will win.

Requirements:
1.    Each playing group should not have more than 5 players.

2.    The players should use Korean including the numbers in Korean.

Steps:
1.    Each person is dealt with 7 cards.

       If you have any pair, drop it.

2.    Ask the player next to you for a number you want by saying:     . . . �־��? (e.g., 7 (ĥ) �־��?)   

Then you pick one card from the deck. If it matches and makes a pair with one of the cards you hold, drop the pair.
If it does not match, then you just have to keep it for the next turn.
 

  3.   It is now the turn for the player who was asked for a number .
        Repeat the above step.
