E305/505 Korean Language and Culture

Using Turnitin.com

Instructions:
The papers you write for this class you are to submit to Turnitin.com (http://turnitin.com), an online plagiarism detection service. This system is designed to encourage academic integrity, accurate use of sources, and independent work in writing.

Before you can submit your papers to this service, you need to go to Turnitin.com, create a user profile, and join this class. To create a user profile and join this class, follow these steps:

  1. Open a web browser (e.g. Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer or Netscape).
  2. Go to http://turnitin.com
  3. Click the "New User" link (in the upper right-hand corner of the screen).
  4. Follow the next five steps to create your user profile, clicking the "next" button to move to the next step.
    NOTE: In step 4, specify your user type as "student." The other user types will not work.
  5. After completing these steps, read the entire user agreement. If you have questions, contact your instructor and click the "I disagree" link. If you understand the agreement and wish to continue, click "I agree - continue with profile."
  6. Click "Start Class Setup Wizard."
  7. Enter the class ID number (14396515) and class enrollment password (e305). Click "next".
  8. Click "End Wizard and go to login page".
  9. To log into your class, enter your email address and password in the boxes in the upper right corner of the page, and click the "Login" button.

You should see this course listed in your profile. Click the name of the class to enter. To begin submitting a paper, click the "submit" button next to the appropriate assignment. When you are finished using Turnitin.com, click the red "Logout" button at the top of the screen.

Note that if your other courses are using Turnitin.com, you won't need to create another user profile, but you will need to join these courses separately.
